- USING SUREFIRE BUTTONS
-
- Buttons in the INFO document, like "Info About Surefire", are
- "pressed" as follows:
-
- 1) Move the cursor over the button with the arrow keys.
- 2) Press the Enter key.
-
- The buttons in INFO bring you to other documents or text files.
- To return back to the main INFO document:
-
- 1) Press the Escape (Esc) key.
-
- If you are using a mouse, you may press a Surefire button by moving
- the mouse cursor over it and clicking with the left mouse button.
- The right mouse button returns you back.
-
- SCROLLING IN A DOCUMENT
-
- Surefire documents that are bigger than the screen can be seen via
- scrolling.
-
- You may move around in a document and scroll in two ways:
-
- 1) From Button to Button or Field to Field like in forms
- 2) Or anywhere without restriction
-
- Use the F3 Key to toggle between these two ways of
- moving around!
-
- Use the Arrow, Page Up/Down, End and Home keys to move around
- and scroll.
-
- To scroll with the mouse, bring the mouse cursor to an edge of the
- document, like the bottom line (just above the hint line) to look
- further down. Now press and hold the left mouse button. To scroll
- back up, place the mouse cursor at the top of the screen just below
- the menu bar. Press and hold the left mouse button.

- MORE HELP

- Press F2 anytime for help about the document you are looking at.

- To learn how the ORDER document is put together, press F2 when
- looking at the ORDER document.

- Press F1 for more general information about Surefire. Open a menu
- and press F1 for information about the menu.

- Read the Surefire User's Guide.

- TO EXIT SUREFIRE
-
- You may exit Surefire at any time by choosing "Exit" from the File
- Menu.
- 1) Press the F10 key.
- 2) Use the down arrow key to open the File menu.
- 3) Move the cursor over Exit and press Enter.

- Or use use the short cut and press Alt + X.

- To return back to the main INFO document screen, press the
- Escape (ESC) Key or the right mouse button.

- The document you are now reading is a text file. The names of
- text files end with ".TXT". They may be printed and looked at
- like any other DOS text file. Surefire documents end with
- ".DOC". They must be printed and looked at using Surefire.
-
- PRINTING FROM SUREFIRE
-
- Set Your Printer Driver:
- 1) Open the File menu (ALT + F) and choose "Setup".
- 2) Use the Down Arrow to move to "Printer is:".
- 3) If this shows your printer you are ready to print. Press Esc
- to close the Setup window.
- 3) If this is not your printer, press Alt + Z to show a Pop List
- of printer drivers.
- 4) Use the Arrow keys to find a printer driver for your printer,
- or one that your printer emulates. (Almost all printers will
- emulate one on this list. Check you printer manual.)
- 5) Press Enter to choose the printer driver.
- 6) Press the Down Arrow and End keys to select the Save button.
- 7) Press Enter.

- The printer driver is now set for your printer for all future
- uses of Surefire.

- Print the Current Document:
- 1) Open the File menu and choose "Print".
- 2) Make sure your printer is ready and on-line.
- 2) Press "PRINT" in the Print window to start printing.

- NOTE: If you are using a Laser Printer or sheet feeding, you may be
- notified that the top and bottom of the page will be cropped.
- Choose YES to continue.

- Before you fill in the order form, make sure you are set up to
- print from Surefire. Go to the README.TXT file by pressing the
- "Info About Surefire" button. Press F2 and follow the instructions
- on PRINTING FROM SUREFIRE and print the README.TXT file to make sure
- all is ok.

- FILLING OUT THE SUREFIRE ORDER FORM:
-
- 1) Type in the appropriate information in the fields. Use the
- Arrow keys to go from field to field or select them with the
- mouse. Use the Ins key to toggle from inserting characters to
- typeover.
- 2) Type in the quantity of items you want. You'll notice
- everything is instantly calculated!
- 3) If you are outside the U.S., use the Space Bar to toggle the
- Yes/No button next to the appropriate Shipping & Handling
- charges.
- 4) If you are in Colorado, use the Space Bar to toggle the Yes/No
- button next to Colorado Tax.
- 5) If you want 3-1/2 inch disk use the Space Bar to toggle the
- disk sizes.
- 6) To pay by credit card, fill in your account number and
- expiration date. Don't forget to sign it after you print it!

- PRINTING THE COMPLETED ORDER FORM

- 1) Open the File menu and choose "Print".
- 2) Make sure your printer is ready and on-line.
- 3) Press "PRINT" in the Print window to start printing.

- HOW WAS THE ORDER FORM CREATED?
-
- 1) Open the Operate menu and choose (Edit) "Document".
-
- When you fill out the Order Form you are USING a Surefire
- Document. To create or change the Order Form you EDIT the
- Surefire Document. When editing a document you can type
- text anywhere within the margins, create fields and easily
- cut and paste text and fields.
-
- Now look at the Field Create window:
-
- 2) Open the Field menu and choose "Create...".
- 3) Press the Space Bar to toggle through and look at the various
- types of fields that can be created.
-
- This is how the fields of the Order Form were created. By
- choosing the appropriate fields and attributes, and positioning
- them on the page with the same operations you use for moving
- around just text, the whole order form was layed out!
-
- Now look at the commands in the fields:
-
- 4) Press the Esc key to close the Field Create window.
- 5) Open the Field menu and choose the "Commands..." item.
- 6) Press Shift + Tab to put the cursor in the document.
- 7) Now move the cursor over any of the fields showing totals.

- In the command window you will see simple expressions that do
- all the calculations. You can do any arithmetic operations or
- choose from over 70 functions.

- 8) Press Esc to close the Command Window.
- 9) Open the Operate menu and choose "Use Document".
